What happened: GL Studio 4.1 from DiSTI boasts stunning upgrades which will not only increase the user’s ability to create high fidelity HMI content, but will also reduce the entire production timeline. Despite being classified as a simple upgrade from the previous version, GL Studio 4.1 increases fidelity and image quality while still decreasing the time needed to develop any project. In fact, users now have the ability to seamlessly integrate animated graphics with speed and direction properties, into GL Studio content with the Animated Schematics plug-in.
Why it matters: This release from DiSTI is curious to me. It seems to be fighting against itself. Note the words, “Despite being classified as a simple upgrade from the previous version” as if someone other than DiSTI made that classification! The release goes on to say, “In fact, users now have the ability to seamlessly integrate animate graphics with speed…” Do they mean to say their previous product was slow but now it’s fast? That’s troubling in today’s instant world.
I learned more abut this company and its products as I read the bottom of their software release that says, “DiSTI is a global leader in the development of Human Machine Interface software for businesses, governments and military.” The problem is if you are unfamiliar with the Human Machine Interface it is unclear whether it is DiSTI’s product or one they help work on. Perhaps you know? Clicking around their Web site you learn they are a substantial company but unfortunately their release isn’t positioning them in this optimum manner.
